Professional Skills
On this page, you will find various practical assessments that I have completed throughout my anatomy and physiotherapy units in my first year of university.
Goniometry Video Assessment
In this video, I applied my goniometry skills learnt in second semester to measure knee flexion ROM in a patient with an injured knee. I then applied my knowledge of lengthening exercises to prescribe a lengthening exercise for the quadriceps muscles.
Trunk Rotation Analysis
In this video, I discussed some of the different muscles that contribute to creating trunk rotation.
Sit to Stand Video
In this video, I used skills learnt in semester one to assist a patient in going from supine, to sitting on the edge of the bed, to performing sit to stand, to finally laying back down.
Teaching Walking with Frame Video
In this video, I used skills learnt in first semester to teach a patient how to use a four-footed walking frame. I then assisted in their sit to stand, followed by supervising them while using the walking frame.
Subjective Ax, MMT, and Intervention Video
In this video, I used a range of skills learnt throughout second semester in order to perform a 5 minute subjective assessment, followed by 10 minutes of manual muscle testing and teaching the patient how to navigate with elbow crutches.
