My Story
My journey into studying physiotherapy begun at a young age. Growing up, I always loved playing sport and generally just being active. As a result, every now and then I would get an injury. When I went to see a physio, I would always be so interested in how they could work out what was wrong so easily. It amazed me! I was so intrigued that I wanted to learn it myself, so, here I am.
I played my final season of domestic basketball this year, and now I'm playing social basketball with a close group of friends. For the past two years I have been working at a local family-owned fish and chips restaurant. Working here has helped me to develop skills in how to handle all sorts of different people, as well as make me more open-minded through my conversations with many people I've met on the job.
My Values and Aspirations
To me, equity, kindness, and perseverance are key values.
I believe that everyone should be treated in a way that acknowledges who they are and what they have going on in their life. I realise not everyone has the same situation in their lives, and that everyone needs individualised treatment.

I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness. Some people may not replicate this kindness, but at the end of the day, you never know what situation someone is going home to. Sometimes a little bit of kindness is all someone needs to make their day. This is something my mum always told me while growing up.

Once I set a goal, I will always do my best to achieve it. I will strive to accomplish any goal I set. I believe having strong perseverance is important for being my best self.

In the future, when I graduate, I wish to provide kind treatment to all my patients, taking into account anything that may be occurring in their lives. I want to be able to help my future patients in setting goals, and help them to achieve them.

I would love to work in any field of physiotherapy. At the moment, entering the field of neurological rehabilitation has really spiked my interest. It is a field that has a personal connection to me as I have family with neurological conditions who need constant physiotherapy. I would love to be able to enter a field like that where I could help people like others have helped my family.
